The OhioLINK Art and Architecture images database is a collection of digital images from The ART Collection and Saskia, Ltd. as well as contributions from OhioLINK institutions. Some images are accompanied by audio or video files, such as an audio tour.

The world-accessible version of this database contains only the contributions of OhioLINK institutions.

Search Results

The Search List shows a brief citation for each record (work of art) retrieved by your search. Each brief citation includes the work's title, date, creator, nationality, and current site. Some works may not have values for these fields.

Use the scrollbar to view the results on a particular page. Use PREVIOUS | NEXT to navigate among pages. You can also navigate within the results list by using the JUMP box.

To see more information about an artwork, click on either the thumbnail or the "Full Record" link.

Full Record: The full display for a citation shows a more complete description of the artwork and one or more views (thumbnails) of the work. The text description may include creator, title, date, repository (e.g. holding museum), work type, measurements, and other fields that are available. Many citations include the URL for the repository.

To bookmark the page, use the URL provided below the Full Record display.

To view the full image, click on the thumbnail.

Certain elements of the Full Record are hypertext linked, such as Creator, Nationality, Object Type, and Owner. Click a link to search the database using that element, e.g., to find all works by this creator.

Image: The image is a JPEG file. The image display also includes a subtitle of basic identifying text, such as title, creator, and repository. To view the image without the identifying text, click on the "jpg image" link.

Browsing

Browse allows you to view the alphabetic list of terms in an index, such as Creator, Nationality/Culture, Object Type, etc. This is a quick way to see the values in an index and find all works in a category, such as Object Type "costume and jewelry". Browsing by Creator name is useful if you are uncertain of exact spelling.

Click on an index to browse. Depending on the length of the list, you will see either the complete list or a series of pages to view.

Some entries, such as Object Type "print", retrieve too many records to browse. In that case, do a search instead, combining "print" with another keyword, such as creator or title word.
